Pensé en escribir algo por motivo de llegar a los dos meses de estar en Praga. Tine posteó un link en mi perfil de facebook, es de un programa de televisión español que aparentemente andan de país/ciudad en país/ciudad y al ver el que hicieron de Praga (en el verano) me alegra muchísimo haber venido al final del verano. Aún pude ver mi cuota de turistas. De hecho, hoy en la noche fui a "Old Town Square" y aún se pueden ver bandadas de turistas con sus cámaras colgadas del cuello.
En estos dos meses que han pasado, estuve viviendo en el hostel donde actualmente trabajo. Conseguí un piso para compartir pero me las ingenié para regresar a vivir a donde empezó todo: al hostel. Pero saber qué? Me gusta más vivir en el hostel. Al salir de mi turno sólo camino un poco y me puedo dormir. Tengo mi propio cuarto, aunque comparto la cocina y los baños con otros dos "pisos".
No he conocido a mucha gente. Los que me conocen, saben que me cuesta iniciar una conversación, pero una vez iniciada, todo es cuesta abajo. Bueno, he hecho unos cuantos amigos: Danica, la CSer de Serbia que es fotógrafa y que me acogó mi primer fin de semana en Praga. Después de estar en su casa seguimos en su contacto. Fernando, nacido en Murcia de papá peruano y mamá española. Vive en Praga con su novia checa que conoció mientras hacia ERASMUS en Noruega. Gerard, catalán. Vino a Praga a buscar trabajo. Consiguió empleo en una cadena española de hoteles donde trabaja, al igual que yo, el turno nocturo. Claudiu, rumano que vivió por más de 15 años en Malmö. Vino a Praga con una oferta de trabajo segura pero al final no le gustó y sigue buscando trabajo. Matt, británico que yo creo que el amor fue lo que lo trajo a Praga. Gracias a el, mi laptop está libre de virus.
I thought of writing something because I've been in Prague for two months now. Tine posted a link on my facebook profile, is from a spanish TV show. They apparently travel from country to country and from city to city. From what I saw in that clip, I'm so glad I came here at the end of summer. I still had my share of tourists but not flocks of tourist like summertime. In fact, tonight I went to the Old Town Square you can still see flocks of tourists everywhere!
In these past two months I went from living in the hostel I'm currently working to a flat I was sharing with some people to back where all started: the hostel. But do you know what? I love living here! When my shift is over I just walk for a bit and I'm up in my room, which by the way, I don't share it with anyone. I only share the kitchen and bathroom.
I haven't met that many people. For those of you that knows me, it's hard for me to start a conversation but once is started it's all downhill. Well, I made a few friends: Danica, the CSer that hosted me my first weekend in Prague. After the hosting we kept in contact. Fernando, born in Murcia from a peruvian father and spanish mum. Lives in Prague with his czech girlfriend he met while doing ERASMUS in Norway. Gerard, from Barcelona. Came looking for a job. He works the night shift in a 5-star hotel somewhere near the Old Town Square. Claudiu, romanian but lived more than 15 years in Malmö. Came to Prague with a job obfer but didn't like in the end so he's now looking for a job. Matt, british. I think that what brought him to Prague was love. Thanks to him my laptop is virus free!
